We hear daily about skills shortages, lack of places, queues and financial challenges in healthcare. How can we meet the challenges in Swedish healthcare while maintaining or improving quality and efficiency? Are virtual care and Hospital-at-Home part of the solution?

Forum for Health Policy presents a new report on Hospital-at-Home, written by physician and researcher Philip Smith. The presentation will be followed by a panel discussion. The report provides an overview of different forms of home care, both in Sweden and internationally. Several studies show that patients eat, sleep and move more and better at home and that there is a lower risk of infection comapred to regular hospital inpatient wards.

Example of questions that will be discussed:

- What do the research and the patients say?
- What obstacles and opportunities are there to scale up to cope with the challenges today?
- How does this affect government governance?
